🌐 About the Website & Sound Generator

Water Eject is a free online acoustic utility designed to remove trapped moisture and water droplets from smartphone speakers. When a phone is submerged or exposed to water, liquid gets trapped inside the small speaker mesh cavities, causing muffled, distorted, or quiet sound. Our website uses the browser's Web Audio API to generate high-amplitude 165Hz sound waves that vibrate the speaker membrane back and forth, building kinetic air pressure that physically expels water droplets out of the grille.

Yes, 100%! All tools, frequency sweeps, Siri shortcuts, visual download guides, and troubleshooting checklists on this website are completely free of charge. You do not need to register, create an account, or enter any credit card information.

No downloads are required! The Water Eject tool runs directly inside your mobile web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Samsung Internet) using standard Web Audio technology. Simply open our Sound Tool page, set your volume to 100%, and click "Start Cleaning".

If you don't hear any sound after pressing Start Cleaning, check the following 4 quick fixes:

1. Turn Media Volume Up: Make sure your device volume is set to 100%.
2. Disable Silent / Ring Switch: On iPhone, flip the physical side mute switch so the orange bar is hidden.
3. Disconnect Bluetooth: Check that your audio is not routing to connected Bluetooth earbuds, car stereo, or smart speakers.
4. Tap the Screen First: Mobile browsers require a user interaction (tap) before playing audio. Tap anywhere on the page and press Start again.

For light splashes or rain drops, 1 or 2 cycles of 30 seconds are usually sufficient. For deeper water submersion (such as dropping your phone in a sink or pool), run 2 to 4 consecutive cycles of 60 seconds each. Allow a 10-second rest between cycles and gently blot the expelled water droplets with a dry microfiber cloth.

šŸ Siri Shortcut & Apple iOS Support

To install the official Siri Shortcut, visit our Siri Shortcut Page on your iPhone. Tap the "Download Shortcut" button or scan the QR code. iOS will open the Shortcuts app and prompt you to "Add Shortcut". Once added, it will appear in your Shortcuts Library and can be triggered anytime.

Once you have added the shortcut to your Apple Shortcuts app, simply activate Siri by saying "Hey Siri, Water Eject" or by holding the side Power button. Siri will automatically max out your volume, play the 165Hz ejection pulse, and notify you when cleaning is complete.

Our website and shortcuts support all iPhone models equipped with water resistance, including iPhone 7, 8, X, XR, XS, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and the latest iPhone 16 series, running iOS 13 through iOS 18+. It also works on all iPad models and Apple Watch.

šŸ¤– Android, Earbuds & Dust Cleaning

Yes! Android users on Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Motorola, and Oppo devices can use our online tool directly via Chrome. We also provide a direct link to the top-rated speaker cleaner app on the Google Play Store on our Android Guide Page.

Yes! Switch our tool to "Wireless Earbuds Mode", which produces a gentle 165Hz–260Hz sine tone calibrated specifically for smaller earbud driver diaphragms. IMPORTANT: Always remove earbuds from your ears before playing the sound, and place the speaker mesh facing downward onto a soft towel.

The Speaker Dust Cleaner mode uses higher frequency square-wave bursts (280Hz to 440Hz). Unlike smooth water waves, these rapid harmonic vibrations break up dried pocket lint, fine sand, and compacted dust stuck behind the speaker grille mesh.

šŸ›”ļø Safety, Science & Emergency First-Aid

No. The 165Hz frequency produced by Water Eject operates within the normal, safe dynamic range of mobile audio drivers. It is identical in principle to the official water-lock ejection tone built into the Apple Watch by Apple engineers.

If your phone shows a "Liquid Detected in Charging Port" warning, DO NOT plug in a lightning or USB-C cable. Run our Water Eject sound tool to vibrate residual moisture away from the bottom assembly, tap the phone gently against your palm with the port facing down, and allow it to air-dry in a well-ventilated area for 30–60 minutes.

Putting a wet phone in raw rice is a harmful myth. Uncooked rice absorbs moisture far too slowly, and fine rice starch grains enter the charging port and speaker grilles, creating a cement-like paste that causes permanent damage. Hair dryers and heat guns must also be avoided because high heat melts the internal waterproof adhesive gaskets and damages lithium-ion batteries.
